Tommy Boyle

Tommy Boyle is the only football player to have captained a Burnley side that won the FA cup final. He started his playing career with Barnsley in 1912 and then signed for Burnley short after. He was considered by many for having the finest header of the ball and helped the club in the 1914 FA cup final. His great play for the club was notable in the 1920 – 1921 season as he captained the side to winning the league title.

Harry Potts

Potts started off his playing career at Burnley FC and went on to make over 150 appearances playing for the club and was a constant threat up front, scoring some crucial goals and was most notable for playing in the 1947 FA Cup final for the clarets. He moved on to play for Everton during the year 1950 and did not disappoint at the club, making a valid contribution to the team.
