Jimmy Mcllroy

After starting his playing career with Northern Irish club, Glentoran, he moved on to play for Burnley in 1950. He helped the club win the league title at the end of the 1959 – 1960 season and made an appearance in the 1962 FA Cup final. In total he made 439 appearances for the Clarets and scored 116 goals. He played his international football for Northern Ireland, earning 51 caps and scoring 10 goals. He later on played for Stoke City between 1962 and 1965 before finishing his playing career at Oldham Athletic.

James (jimmy) Adamson

Adamson made his debut for the club in February 1951 and later on was to become a legend at Burnley FC. He was a crucial member of the 1959 – 1960 title winning team and then went on to captain Burnley in the 1962 FA Cup final, a match they lost against Tottenham Hotspur. He was named footballer of the year in 1962 and retired from playing football in 1964.

Connelly started off his professional playing career at Burnley and made a real impression at the club before signing on to play for Manchester United, a place he would score 35 goals in only two years. He later on enjoyed spells playing for Blackburn Rovers and Bury. He also represented the English national football team on twenty occasions and scored seven goals for his nation.
